Todd Robinson the Conductor and Olivia Alive
EVERYBODY BEGINS SOMEWHERE

The moment Todd began teaching he saw potential in one of his students. A young girl in elementary school, named Olivia. Todd placed her front and center on stage and gave her all the confidence she needed. Then he sat back and observed the audience’s reaction to her solo performance. It was that event and that moment that convinced me to sign this child to a contract. Within one year Olivia was performing solo for multiple events, including TV news special. What Todd didn’t know was that Olivia was the forth generation child in her family, who desired to be an artist and never reached their goal. Todd received his master of music in voice from Binghamton University.
His conducting and teaching credits include six years as musical director and conductor for two adult choirs in northeastern Pennsylvania, where he debuted several of his own compositions of choral and orchestral music; three years as general music and chorus teacher/conductor in the Montrose Area School District; and one year as an adjunct professor of voice for Elmira College, Binghamton University and the University of California. Robinson, a renowned singer, has appeared in leading roles with numerous opera companies including San Francisco Opera, San Francisco Opera Center (Adler Showcase and Merola Opera Program), San Francisco Opera’s Western Opera Theater Tour 2002, New National Theater Tokyo (Japan), Opera Pacific, Sacramento Opera, tri-Cities Opera, Opera Santa Barbara and the Music Academy of the West.
Todd has worked with the “Youth Workshop” as a conductor. He has spent many years conducting and teaching a variety of singers, from young beginners to young professionals. Three cheers to a teacher who recognized a child’s talent, ability and potential.
